Earlier today I actually rearra...What a great idea! Earlier today I actually rearranged our enquiry desk (much to my manager's confusion!) so that I was angled more toward the students - so many people come to the desk and start with "Sorry to bother you..." or "I was wondering if you could help me..." and it really makes me realise just how intimidating it must be to ask for help. It reminds me of the comparisons made between library enquiry desks and altars. I really love your sign, maybe this is what we need to make it clear we're there to help and actually do want to be interrupted!
